Epson Print Enabler app lets you print directly from your Google Android device using a wide range of Epson laser and inkjet printers. This tool allows you to print web pages, emails, photos, and other documents, easily utilizing the Android system.
The app has a really clean and simple UI, and the design is quite inviting, warranting a rating of 9/10. Once you select the printer, you effortlessly pick your preferred options, using intuitive and well-placed elements, and choose Print. Everything you need to get your file printed is clearly displayed.
The Android app is an enabler and not exactly a printer app. However, its functionality matches that of even more advanced printer apps, so I give it a rating of 9/10. You can print directly from your Android mobile or tablet, and you can also adjust print options such as a number of copies, color, paper size, the desired quality, and 2-sided printing. With merely a few taps, your Android device will discover your nearby Epson product and print.
The app supports most applications that have a print option such as Chrome, Google Drive, Gmail, Gallery, QuickOffice, Photos and other newer applications on your Android that support the function. Just turn on your Wi-Fi, connect your device to your printer, and you can get started printing.
The last update performed in June 2017 offers compatibility with most Epson printers. The APK is download-free, and there are no in-app purchases for this app. The APK download runs on Android 4.4 or later, but isn’t compatible with iOS.
The Google Play app for printing with Epson devices is fairly easy to use, and the controls are quite intuitive. The setup is easy once you have your Wi-Fi on and the printer within range. However, I didn’t get as much control over some aspects such as page size, print quality, and scale reduction or increase.
The printing is pretty fast, right from choosing a compatible printer on your phone to the actual printer, and the app guides your steps effortlessly. It was easier for me to print photos than other documents such as PDFs and Word docs, and I’m not entirely sure if this is a problem other users encountered.
For these reasons, I would rate the ease of use at 6/10.
This app for all Android devices works fine sometimes, and at times it doesn’t. I’ve had to uninstall it several times to get it to work nicely, and it does for a while. After that, I have to start afresh. It isn’t a leading printing app in my books, but I’d certainly recommend it to anyone who is willing to give it a try.
